Last night’s wedding reception was my second wedding event. It was held at the Cedar Knoll Inn & Restaurant in Fort Hunt, VA along the Potomac River, just a mile from George Washington’s Mt. Vernon Estate. The entire area along the George Washington Memorial Parkway is just gorgeous, unfortunately it had rained all day and it wasn’t stopping any time soon. Jess spent some time photographing Valerie while I spent some time capturing detail shots before their guests arrived.
Valerie and Thomas hadn’t planned for a wedding photographer so a close friend of theirs hired Jess and I for the evening. The entire family was wonderful. The Father of the bride was the entertainment for the evening, playing set upon set of classic rock. The bride and groom danced and laughed together alongside of 120 of their closest friends and family. The entire room was full of laughter and smiles. It’s ‘kinda’ nice to be surrounded by such loving people while capturing their special moments.
