Kansas City Photographer | Jackson

I’ve decided not to import any of my old blog posts but instead to just start fresh.  As optimistic and positive as I am, why not!  I woke at 6:00 am to get ready for Jackson’s 10 month photos when I noticed a thick fog.  It was so heavy I could hardly see 20 feet into my backyard.  I met the family at 7:30 am and by the time we started, the fog had lightened up just enough to allow for some nice soft light.  Not as nice as window light, but close.

This little guy has the biggest blue-green eyes I’ve ever seen.  He didn’t mind the camera at all because he was preoccupied, as you might have guessed from the third image below.  He really had me laughing, being the curious little guy he is.

I used the 70-200mm f/2.8 for 60% and the 50mm f/1.4 for the rest of the session.  While I love the telephoto zoom lens, I almost always create my strongest shots with the nifty fifty.

1:  70-200 f/2.8 @ 140mm |  ISO 400, f/4 @ 1/160 sec

2 & 3: 50mm f/1.4 | ISO 400, f/1.4 @ 1/2000 sec

Ingrid - I like #3 of the boy and the tree. How cute, it really stands out.
