Of the three years I’ve been living in Kansas City, I’d never made it to the Kauffman Memorial Gardens. This past Sunday I had the chance at the request of J & J. We started early, making our way in just as the gates opened at 8am. We had the entire place to ourselves and although small, made for some really nice photos. When finished, we took a walk up to the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art to take a few more shots since it was nearby. J & J really have a good relationship, there were a few times where they just forgot I was there, talking and laughing. For a photographer, natural smiles are always better than those where you’ve got to say “smile.” Here’s a sneak peek of a few of my favorites.

I really enjoy doing the bokeh pano shots (the first image). They really give a different perspective, that’s not possible to capture with one shot. They take a little extra time to put together but it’s something that not all photographers offer.
